THE PLUG

The Plug is a project led by Giovanni Giorgi (compositions, arrangements, drums, electro stuff) alongside Andrea Lombardini (compositions, bass), with Sergio Cocchi as featured vocalist and co-writer on 5 tracks and Downbeat Poll winner Gianluca Petrella as a special guest on trombone.

Their music merges the worlds of live electronic music (no computers on stage!!), the charm and actuality of traditional jazz , bebop's freedom of expression, and the alchemy beetween funk, jazz and rock in its most modern form.

It's a musical journey during which musical stimulations are produced and fully explored in real time through electronic and acoustic instruments (and, yes, also through that so-beloved I-Phone!!)

Think of mainstream jazz goin' soul, Stravinskij and Zappa meeting Miles Davis doin' underground electro noise, and in the middle of all this, a beautiful melody emerges and takes you further on deep in the trip.

The use of analogue machines, both on stage and during recording sessions, gives the performance an openess and never repetitive feel that's unique and mesmerizing.
